Please submit or
revise the following so we may continue our review:
1. Certificate of Survey. A survey dated 11-17-2015 was provided; however, it does not fully show current topography
around the proposed addition or any proposed grading for the additions or the pool. Please provide two copies of an
updated full-size certificate of survey which meets all of the City's survey standards(enclosed)indicating any proposed
grading. Please note our engineer has not reviewed the survey,so additional comments may be forthcoming.
2. Demolition Permit. We understand the octagon structure will be demolished after the building permit is issued and in
conjunction with the construction of the new addition. If the octagon is to be demolished prior to the building permit
being issued, please submit a demolition permit(copy attached).
3. Pool Permit.
a. Is the pool being constructed at this time? If so,please have the pool contractor submit a separate pool permit
(copy attached). If not,we will redline the pool with the building permit for the additions only.
b. If the pool is proposed to be constructed at a later date, have the pool contractor submit pool permit with two
copies of the survey showing the proposed pool location, existing and proposed topography at that time.
4. Resolutions. Please arrange for both John and Cyndy to sign the original resolutions at the City Offices. We are open
Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm. We will not issue the building permit until the resolutions have been signed.
5. Escrow&Escrow Agreement. Permits involving grading and/or review by the City's engineer require submittal of an
escrow and an escrow agreement. The purpose of the escrow is to guarantee reimbursement to the City for out-of-
pocket costs incurred during the review of your plans. Additionally this escrow will guarantee conformance with City
Code Chapter 79 relating to erosion control and stormwater. The required escrow amount for this project is
$2,500. We currently hold $2,500 in conjunction with the variance application. No additional escrow money is
required at this time. An updated escrow agreement is attached. The property owner must sign the updated escrow
agreement and return.
6. Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD). Your project may trigger the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District's
(MCWDs)permitting requirements;please contact the MCWD directly at 952-471-0590 regarding your project. Please
note, the City of Orono will not issue a building permit without a copy of the MCWD permit or documentation stating
the proposed project does not trigger any of their permitting requirements.
Please feel free to contact me at 952.249.4620 or by email at cmattson@ci.orono.mn.us if you have any questions on the above
requirements.
Christine Mattson
Planning Assistant
City of Orono
2750 Kelley Parkway I Orono I MN 55356(physica/address)
PO Box 66 Crystal Bay I MN I 55323-0066(mailing addressJ
' 952.249.4620 8 952.249.4616
 cmattson@ci.orono.mn.us www.ci.orono.mn.us
i
