Based on <br /> our review of the survey and a site inspection, the deck and false gable we discussed this summer, were <br /> constructed without proper building permits. Construction without a building permit is in violation of City Code <br /> Section 86-68. A copy of the code section is below. <br /> This property is considered to be in violation. In order to resolve the violation you must address the after-the- <br /> fact permit requirements. Please note, no further permits will be issued until this is resolved. We have noted <br /> in our file for this property, the deck and false gable were constructed without inspections. <br /> According to the City's 2013 Fee Schedule when construction begins before a building permit is issued, an <br /> after-the-fact (double fee) is required, see attached. An advanced plan review feel of$67.11 was paid on <br /> 5/17/13 based on an estimated construction value of$4,000. A corrected building permit application was <br /> submitted by you in June and the estimated construction value increased to $9,500. The building permit fee <br /> based on $9,500 is $191.75, this amount doubled $383.50 plus an additional advanced plan review fee of <br /> $57.53 and a state surcharge of$4.75 equals $445.78. The after-the-fact amount of$445.78 must be paid <br /> before Monday, September 16, 2013.
