At each visit a written rcport/rccard must be provided to horneowner. Plumbin�lSource of Waatewater • Review the Water Use Appliance Chart on Page 5 with homeawner. Discuss any changes in wat�r use and the impact thase chan�es may havc on th�septic systcm. • Review water usagc rates(if availablc)wifih homeowner. Septit Tank/Fump T�aks • Manhvde lid. A riscr is recommended if the lid is not accassible from the ground surfaee. lnsulate the riser cover for frost protecrian. • Liguid l�vel. Gheck to make sure the tank is not lcaking.The liquid lcvel should be level with the bottom of th@ outlet pipe. (lf the water level is below the bottarn of the outtet pipe, the tank may nat be watcrtigktt. If the water lcve� is higher than the bottom of the outlet pipe af tho tank, thc effluant screen may need cleaning,or there may be poading in the soii troatment area.) • Inspectlon pipes. Rcplace damaged ar missing pipes and caps. . &r,f,�7e.s.Check to rnake sure they are in place and attached,and that inledoutlet baffles are cicar of buildup or abstructions. • E,�j'tuent screen. Cheek ta make surc it is in ptace; clean per rnanufacturer recommendation. Recommend retrofitted installatian if one is not pras�nt • Alarm.Verify that the alarm works. • Scum arrd sludge, Measure scurn and sludge in each campartment of each scptic and pump tank, pump if needed. Pwrap • Pump and controls. Check to make sure the pump and cantrols arc operating correctly. • Pump vault. Check to make sure it is in piace;ciean�r manufactur�r recommendations. • Alarm. Verify that the alarm works. • Drainback. Check ta make sure it is draining properly, • Event caunter ar elapsed time meter. Check to see if thcre is an event counter or elapsed time meter for the pump. lf therc is one or both,calcutate the water usage ratc and camparc ta the anticipated use listed on Dcsign and Page 2.T�use Volume: gallons: Purnp run tim�: Minutes Sail Treatment Area • Inspection pipes.
