By disconnecting the water softner and filling around <br /> the distribution box, the septic system may function better for <br /> " some period of time, however staff does not believe this to be an <br /> adequate long-term solution. Therefore, the system Wiii be <br /> inspected more frequently to assure that surfacing does not <br /> reoccur. The system was inspected on October 21, 1992 at which <br /> time the drainfield appeared to be moist although not surfacing. <br /> If the septic system is £ound to be surfacing, the septic system <br /> must be replaced within 90 days of the inspection. The soil <br /> testing results from last summer indicated that a mound system <br /> would be required which will preclude the installation of <br /> additional trenches to the existing system �see file).
