1795 Fox Street Wetland Delineation Report
The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) Wetland Inventory showed a Manage 1
wetland located on property(Figure 7). The MCWD requires a minimum buffer width of 34
feet on this wetland.
Table 1. Data forms are included in Appendix C. The following wetland
and upland descriptions reflect conditions observed at the time of the field visit. Some
herbaceous vegetation was actively growing, while other species were beginning to senesce, and
leaves were still present on trees and shrubs. Precipitation conditions were within normal range
based on the 3-month antecedent weighted average, and below the normal range based on the 30-
day rolling total precipitation (Appendix D).
Approximate wetland boundaries are shown on Figure 2. These boundaries are based on a
previous wetland delineation that was located by Gronberg&Associates Land Surveyors. The
previous Wetland Boundary Survey is included as Appendix E. This survey will be updated
after the new wetland boundary flags are located. Wetland and wetland boundary characteristics
are summarized below.
Wetland 1 was a Type 3 (PEMC) shallow marsh that covered most of the property. The wetland
was dominated by narrowleaf cattail with a fringe of reed canary grass and some willow. The
wetland covered approximately 24.59 acres within the property boundary and had obvious
surface saturation.
The adjacent upland was dominated by common buckthorn, green ash, and white cedar with
grassland dominated by orchard grass, smooth brome, and Kentucky bluegrass. The wetland
boundary mostly corresponded to an increase in elevation and transition from reed canary grass
in the wetland to common buckthorn on the upland.
The wetland is shown on the NWI map as a PEM I C/PABG wetland and mapped as Muskego,
Blue Earth, and Houghton soils (hydric) on the soil survey. The Minnesota Public Waters
Inventory shows the wetland as DNR Public Waters Wetland 27-859W and a DNR Public
Watercourse drains from northwest to southeast through the site on its way to Tanager Lake and
Lake Minnetonka.
4
