August 27, 1997
Ron Moorse, City Administrator
Orono MN.
I would like to request an eension of the date of December 3 l, 1997 for the installation
of a mound system at our home at 2145 6th Ave north. The reasons are as follows:
1. The recent installation of a sewer system on North Brown Road brings a sewer hook-up
within about 500 yards of our property. I realize that no one can predict exactly where
new sewer lines will be installed in the future, but it seems likely with the needs of the
Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Woodlands across Co. Road 6 from our home would
justify a lateral to the west on County Road.
2. For the last 20 years, my wife and I have been the only occupants of our home. In
compliance with Orono regulations, we have had our septic tanks pumped regularly. The
past 10 years. We have spent our winters in Arizona, (about 6 mo.)this coupled with
summer traveling would suggest that we have hardly overloaded our septic system. We
understand the need to minimize the efluent entering our lake systems, however since we
are about 800 ft from the meander line of Dickey lake and with our low usage, can hardly
be a high priority site.
3. We recognize that for the long term, this home could be occupied by a larger family
with a higher load. We do not have any immediate plans to sell. We have had a survey
made and have removed forty or more trees to prepare the site. We can proceed at any
time, but it will not be a simple project. Since there is some uncertainty about sewer
plans, and the fact that our load in minimal, I would like to delay installation of a mound
system until such time as the sewer issue is clear. I would not like to go through the
expense and disruption of installing an expensive mound system only to find out in several
years that we must hook up to sewer. We would appreciate an answer to this request as
soon as possible.
Daniel & Ruth McPherson
2145 6th Ave No.
Long Lake MN.
(612) 473-5046
< /'f'/
 / (
✓' f G1lal-1%/-i P iC' 6Gr`ll`1
t ,`Olff(G7..ll! '1 d`l'dlt / GlOr/
  y
G . .,/ ..' S`,/C '-`..i-r '' ,`

iIllti `y 'c /,1,`/', JL1`l. 1°`.f'f
 D ,j,y ,r y`.
