<br /> Per the Minnesota Department of Nattiral Resources (DNR� mandate, .
<br /> has adopted more stringent regulations that will force all septic systems withi.n 1,000 feet of
<br /> designated lakes and within 30Q feet of designa.ted streams to be brought.into compliance. The
<br /> DNR is requiri.ng ihat all existing septic systems meet recendy updated Minnesota Pollution
<br /> Control A;ency (1�IPCA) standards. The City will be comprehensively inspecting all septic
<br /> systems wichin the Shoreland District to identify those which do not conform to the new

<br /> The inspection with.in the Shoreland District will evaluate three criteria for septic system
<br /> conformiry. The systems will be checked to identify. prohibited systems (such as cesspools or •
<br /> systems with overflow pipes), failing systems, and non-conform.ing systems. Currently, annual
<br /> inspections only identify prohibited systems and failing systems. What will change is that soil
