It is our understanding that your existing system is non-compliant and you wish to upgrade it.
The property was evaluated for it potential to suppot a standard septic system but due to steep sios,
limited space with undisturbed soils and a high seasonal watertable no area could be found to support
such a system. Therefore a performance type septic system has been designed in general accordance
with Minnesota Rule Chapter 7080.
The system will consist of a 1300 gallon trash trap/multi flo dosing tank,a 600 gallon multi flo
treatment plant,a 1300 gallon bed dosing tank and a 900 squaze foot raised pressure bed. Due to the
topography in the area best suitable for the dispersal field,a reta.ining wall will need to be constructed
around the easterly side of dispersal field.
Soil borings were completed on the property and revealed disturbed(cut&fill)soils in the area of the
existing drainfield and the south and easterly side slope of the large hill in the back yard. 1'he depth to
the seasonal watertable ranged from 20"to 42"below the ground surface in the area of the proposed
dispersal field. Based on the three soil borings in the area of the dispersal fieid, soil boring#7 had the
. highest seasonal watertable which was found to be at an elevation of 108.1. With the bottom of the
proposed dispersal field media being at an elevation of 109.6 the dispersai field will have atleastl8"of
vertical separation from the seasonal watertsble.
This system will require semi annual monitoring, sampling and service to ensure it is working properly.
For frequencies of monitoring and sampling refer to the monitoring plan attached. Maintenance of the
system is to be completed as per the manufactiues recommendations. Also attached is a mitigation plan.
This plan lays out recommendations to foliow if the systcm or a portion of the system fails or dces not
work properly. A water meter will also need to be installed in the house as per state codes.
