A full-way valve must be provided on the cold water supply line to the water heater(see Minnesota Rules, <br /> part 4715.1800). <br /> 5. Equipment used fo�heating water or storing hot water shall be protected by approved safety devices in <br /> accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2210 and part 4715.2230. Water heaters must be installed <br /> so that they are readily accessible for inspection, repair, or replacement. Water heaters may not be <br /> located above ceiling panels. <br /> 6. Threaded noule connections must be provided with approved backflow preventers. This shall include the <br /> hose bibbs. <br /> 7. There shall be at least two cleanouts in the building drain, one at or near the base of the stack and one <br /> near the connection between the building drain and the building sewer. The cleanout at the outside wall <br /> � may be inside or outside of the building, and shall be made with a full "Y" branch fitting and shall.extend <br /> at least 2 inches above-grade or finished floor, except that the administrative authority may grant <br /> permission to use a flush cover (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.1000). <br /> 8. All solder and flux used for the potable water distribution systems shall contain less than 0.2 percent lead. <br /> Use of 50-50 solder or flux containing more than 0.2 percent lead is prohibited in potable water <br /> distribution systems. Any solder other than 95-5 tin-antimony or 96-4 tin-silver must be specifically <br /> approved by the administrative authority prior to use (see Minnesota Statutes, Section 326.371). <br /> 9. If plastic pipe is used for the drain, waste and vent system: <br /> a. ABS plastic pipe shall comply with ASTM Standard D 2661 or F 628. <br /> b. PVC plastic pipe shall comply with ASTM Standard D 2665, D 2949 or F 891. <br /> c. It must be installed in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0580(F) and part 4715.0600. <br /> Above-grade horizontal runs of plastic waste and vent pipe cannot exceed 35 feet in total length. <br /> Above-grade vertical stacks constructed of plastic pipe may exceed 35 feet in total height only if an <br /> approved expansion joint is used. <br /> d. Solvent weld joints in PVC and CPVC pipe must inctude use of a primer which is of contrasting color <br /> to the pipe and cement (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0810, subpart 2). <br /> 10. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820. <br /> 11. The water piping system shall be disinfected in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2250. <br /> NOTE(S): <br /> 1. The scope of this project consists of the construction of a new building. The plumbing installation <br /> includes restrooms, showers, a break room sink, and a flammable waste interceptor. <br /> 2. This faciliry is served by a private well and an individual sewage treatment system. <br /> Authorization for construction in accordance with the approved plans may be withdrawn if construction is not <br /> undertaken within a period of two years. The fact that the plans have been approved does not necessarily <br /> mean that recommendations or requirements for change will not be made at some later time when changed <br /> conditions, additional information, or advanced knowledge make improvements necessary. <br />
