Ferndale road is a local street and per City Code only <br /> allows a maximum 42 inch tall fence on local roads. Exception: A fence not exceeding six feet in <br /> height may be located along the street lot line of a lake frontage lot which abuts a major <br /> thoroughfare. A major thoroughfare for purposes of this section means any county road or <br /> state highway. If such fence involves fill or berming,the total combined height of both fence <br /> and fill shall not exceed six feet above the height of the crown of the major thoroughfare. <br /> Governing Regulation:Variance(Section 78-123) <br /> In reviewing applications for variance, the Planning Commission shall consider the effect of the <br /> proposed variance upon the health, safety and welfare of the community, existing and <br /> anticipated traffic conditions, light and air, danger of fire, risk to the public safety, and the effect <br /> on values of property in the surrounding area.
