Orono currently has 27 miles of publicly owned <br /> local streets. Orono's history has had a significant impact on the local road way systems. <br /> Northern Rural Orono Roads <br /> The straight-line road grid system in central and northern Orono was established along section <br /> lines a century ago to efficiently serve the agricultural activity in the City.
