This design is for an alternate site for this property.
The soils on this site are a clay loam. The seasonally saturated soils were located at
14" to 18" (mottled soil). Due to the seasonally saturated soils, a Pressurized Mound
System with 2 rock beds will need to be installed to treat septic effluent. The bottom of
the rock must be located at least 3' above the saturated soils. The rockbeds are 17'
apart which is the absorption width which classifies the system as standard. The
distribution pipe will be the same level.
Approval will be needed for the toe of the mound to be 15' from the right away.
The soils at a depth of 12" have a percolation rate of 12.0 mpi.
A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent to the treatment area.
The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and pumping
chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be installed with a light
and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure.
1
