MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,October 20,2014 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> Leskinen asked if there was anything that jumped out that should be reviewed by the Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> Schwingler indicated he is comfortable with the plan. <br /> Schwingler moved,McGrann seconded,to recommend approval of Application No. 14-3695,David <br /> Fox, 1095 Ferndale Road West,granting of a variance and conditional use permit renewal. <br /> VOTE: Ayes 7,Nays 0. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> 8. REPORT FROM PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVES ON CITY <br /> COUNCIL MEETINGS HELD ON SEPTEMBER 22,2014,AND OCTOBER 13,2014 <br /> Leskinen stated the City Council on September 22,2014,voted to approve a negative resolution on the <br /> Lakeview EAW. In addition,the Alness,Ziegler,and Kelly applications were approved. <br /> Curtis noted the Council requested Staff monitor the Kelly property for two years to ensure the viability <br /> of the trees. <br /> Mack noted the streetlights have been installed in Navarre. <br /> Gaffron noted at the October 13 meeting the City Council approved the Narrows application and the <br /> Gustafson application, with the remaining planning items being placed on the Consent Agenda. The <br /> Tonka Lake Properties application was tabled. <br /> Curtis noted on the Gustafson application the City Council requested additional language be included in <br /> the resolution to protect the fire lane. <br /> 9. OTHER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br /> Mack stated as it relates to the twin home project on Kelly, he has had continued dialogue with the <br /> developer and that they are basically planning to host a neighborhood meeting to discuss alternatives for <br /> the site. <br /> Mack noted the neighbors will be informed at that time that the City has replaced a crushed culvert and <br /> cleaned out some other culverts to help address some of the flooding issues in the area.
