DIVISION 07 Section 07180 - Water Repellents ' <br /> PART 3. EXECUTION ' <br /> 3.0.1 PREPARATTON <br /> A. Clean substrabe.Remove laitance,dust,and curing materials,oil,or grease. ' <br /> B. Test for moisture content and pH.Follow manufacturer s recommendations. � <br /> C. Protect adjoining work. Cover adjacent and neazby surfaces including live plants <br /> and grass.Immediately remove water repellent from surface.s not intended fio <br /> receive treatmen� Comply with manufac�turer's recommendations for cleaning. , <br /> 1. Probect asphalt based products,such as roofing materials or <br /> plastic products,from overspray. <br /> ' <br /> 3.02 TEST APPLICATION <br /> A. Apply best patch in an unobtrusive location to demonstrabe final effect(visual, ' <br /> physical,and cheinical). <br /> 3.03 APPLICATION , <br /> A. Apply one or two saturation spray coats,following manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> B. Caullcing and sealant work may be done prior to or following the application of the , <br /> sealer.Sealant must be fully cured priox to application. <br /> C. Stir material well prior fio and periodically during application.Use a bairel stirring ' <br /> attachment on a power drill or a recirculating,pump for mixing.Rolling.of the <br /> container is not sufficient <br /> D. Surface air and material temperatures should be 20 deg F to 95 deg,F(7 deg.0 to 35 � <br /> deg C)during application.Do not apply Hydrozo0 Silane 40 VOC when <br /> fiemperatures are expected bo fall beLow 20 dog.F iQ7 dog.C�within 12 houxs..It is ' <br /> recoaunended to avoid rain for 4 hours following the application.Hydrozo�Silane <br /> 40 VOC may be applied fio slight[ydamp surfaces. <br /> E. On vertical surfaces:Apply from the bottom up for uniform distribution of the ' <br /> sealer.Apply to saturation,with a controlled rundown of 8 inches(20 cm). In <br /> certain cases,a mist coat before general application will help break the surface <br /> bension and ensure maximum penetration of saturation coat. ' <br /> 3.04 CLEANUP <br /> A Clean equipment with mineral spirits or xylene. ' <br /> B. Remove protective rnverings firom adjacent surfaces. <br /> 3.05 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ' <br /> A. Hydrozo0 Silane 40 VOC contains isopropanol,n-octyl triethoxyoctylsilane. ' <br /> B.Risks: <br /> 1. Flammable liquid and vapor.Liquid may cause severe eye irritation;vapors may <br /> irritate eyes and respiratory trace. Harmful if inhaled or swallowed.
