Site excavations and backfilling for retaining walls and utilities <br /> B. Grading:Contractor to do all grading. Grading limits identified on"Conswction Plan For Grading, <br /> � Bituminous Paving And Storm Sewer"by Hennepi County Transportation Department(attached) <br /> 1. Grade subbase prior to granulaz base <br /> 2. Compact subsoil under azeas to be paved. Subgrade under area designated as'bituminous <br /> pavement by Owner is to anticipate 1/8 inch per foot slope,sloping southward. <br /> � Contractor to verify with Architect grades and areas that may appeaz questionable. <br /> 3. Fine grade topsoil prior to landscaping <br /> C. Excavation and backfilling at building. <br /> � D. Backfill subdrain material behind walls. <br /> E. Grade as indicated and compact subsoil under eastern parking azea. <br /> F. Grade Collection Pond and wedand area as shown on site plan;Contractor is to build a swale <br /> � hom south end of retaining wall to ponding area as indicated on plans prepazed by Hennepin <br /> County Transportation Department,dated 3.15.02 . Meet grades shown on site plan. <br /> G. Erosion Control as required by Minnehaha Creek Watershed District regulations <br /> � 1.03 DEFINITIONS <br /> A. As used in this Section include the following: <br /> � 1. Backfill:Soil materials used to fill an excavation. <br /> 2. Base Course: Layer placed between the subbase course and asphalt paving. <br /> � 3. Bedding Course: Layer placed over the excavated subgrade in a trench before <br /> laying pipe. <br /> ' 4. Borrow:Satisfactory soil imported from off-site for use as fill or backfill. <br /> 5. Drainage Course:Layer supporting slab-on-grade used to minimize capillary <br /> flow of pore water. <br /> � 6. Excavation: Removal of material encountered above subgrade elevations. <br /> � a. Additional Excavation: Excavation below subgrade elevations as directed by <br /> Architect. Additional excavation and replacement material will be paid for <br /> according to Contract provisions for Changes in the Work. <br /> b. Unauthorized Excavation: Excavation below subgrade elevations or beyond <br /> � indicated dimensions without direction by Architect. Unauthorized <br /> excavation, as well as remedial work directed by Architect, shall be without <br /> additional compensation. <br /> S7.
