�o�o <br /> C ITY OF ORONO <br /> � � Street Address: Mailing Address: I Telephone(952)249-4600 <br /> 'S�, � 2750 Kelley Parkway P.O.Box 66 Fax (952)249-4616 <br /> l,q �,�' Orono,MN 55356 Crystai Bay,MN 55323 www.ci.orono.mn.us <br /> kFSHO� <br /> December 29, 2014 <br /> David Umbehocker <br /> 3860 Shoreline Drive <br /> Orono MN 55391 <br /> David, <br /> As we have discussed you have two hazardous buildings on your property at 3860 Shoreline Drive.The <br /> city must require you to remedy the situation.The following are options for you to consider. <br /> 1- You could obtain a building permit to repair the structures. <br /> 2- You could obtain a building permit to replace the structures in kind. <br /> 3- You could enter into an agreement with the city to have the structures removed.The cost would <br /> then be assessed to your taxes in 5 equal installments at 89�interest per annum.A ballpark <br /> estimate of$4000 has been received by the city for removal of the structures. <br /> 4- You could obtain a demolition permit and remove the structures yourself. <br /> 5- You could do nothing and the city will proceed with a hazardous building action and obtain a <br /> court order to remove the structures.The cost would then be assessed to your taxes all at one <br /> time. <br /> City ordinance would allow you to rebuild the structures in kind if you were to obtain a building permit <br /> within 6 months of the demolition. If reconstruction did not start within 6 months the buildings would <br /> be required to meet zoning standards and setbacks and it may not be rebuilt in those locations. <br /> The city has provided you ample time to bring your property into compliance.A deadline of March 1 <br /> 2015 has been established for removal or repair.
