CITY OF ORONO MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: November 26, 2018 <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: Jeremy Barnhart, AICP, Community Development Director <br />RE: 2040 Comprehensive Plan <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this item is to provide information related to the 2040 Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment to the Council in advance of its review on December 10th <br />2. Background. The Planning Commission reviewed the Comprehensive Plan at their meeting on <br />November 19th and recommended approval with a vote of 6-0. The City Council will review the plan at <br />their meeting on December 10th. The amendment is due to the Metropolitan Council by December 31, <br />2018, this is the last City Council meeting prior to that date. The final draft is posted to dropbox and is on <br />the city website. Paper copies of the maps will be provided at the workshop meeting for all <br />Councilmembers. <br />Also attached are copies of all comments received after April, 2018. These comments include those <br />generated during the formal public review period (Exhibit A), comments generated in advance of the <br />Planning Commission public hearing (Exhibit B), and Met Council comments (Exhibit C), received on <br />November 13th. <br />Staff would appreciate any comments or questions prior to the December 10 meeting, this allows staff to <br />make necessary changes or to provide additional information, as appropriate, for review on that date. <br />
