The City does not allow new pylon signs <br /> to be created,therefore the sign can be replaced in-kind,or smaller—within the exact same envelope of the existing <br /> signs(logo and reader board). As proposed the new logo "swooshes" extend beyond the envelope of the existing logo <br /> on the pylon. Also,the reader board is smaller, but needs to with within the same envelope (distance vertically). See <br /> page 4 of 4 of the attachment from Persona. Also attached you will find a copy of proposed signs showing the areas of <br /> the sign that extend beyond the existing envelope. We are not able to administratively permit the pylon sign as <br /> proposed. <br /> Please advise if you would like us to proceed in reviewing the new proposed wall sign. <br /> If you would like to proceed with updating the pylon sign as proposed you will need to apply for a variance. The <br /> variance application fee is$700 and a $700 escrow. The escrow is refunded after the variance request is <br /> complete. Attached is the variance application. Please note the council has shown interest in modifying the sign code, <br /> but there is no set timeline as to when that is expected to happen. <br /> The upcoming deadlines for variance submittals are Wednesday,January 18, 2017 or February 22, 2017.
