This authority would allow cities to collect fees from <br />property owners within a district to fund municipal street maintenance or reconstruction. Staff is <br />supportive of this legislation because it would allow the City another potential funding source for <br />road maintenance or reconstruction. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the letter of support for enabling legislation that would authorize cities the ability <br />to establish street improvement districts to fund municipal street maintenance, construction, and <br />reconstruction. <br />
