LA18-000096 <br /> WHEREAS, on November 9, 2018, Orono Independent School District No. 278, a <br /> Minnesota public corporation, represented by Justin McCoy ("Applicant"), is the owner of the <br /> property located at 685 Old Crystal Bay Road North within the city of Orono(hereinafter"City"and <br /> legally described as: <br /> The south 940 feet of Government Lot 1, Section 33, Township 118, Range 23, also <br /> known as PID 33-118-23-21-0002,Hennepin County,Minnesota(hereinafter the"Property"); <br /> WHEREAS, on March 14, 2005, the City of Orono granted a variance permitting <br /> a free standing, electronic sign measuring 56 sq feet and 9'2"in height via resolution 5292; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants have made application to the City of Orono for a <br /> variance to Orono Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-1478 to allow a freestanding sign larger <br /> than 56 sq ft and 9'2", the dimension granted by Resolution 5292; and <br /> WHEREAS,on December 10,2018,after published and mailed notice in accordance <br /> with Minnesota Statutes and the City Code, the City Council held a public hearing, at which time <br /> all persons desiring to be heard concerning this application were given the opportunity to speak <br /> thereon; and <br /> WHEREAS, on Dee.•���.ZolB, the City Council reviewed the application and the <br /> recommendations of City staff; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Orono, <br /> Minnesota hereby approves the requested variance as described above based on one or more of the <br /> following findings of fact concerning the Property: <br /> FINDINGS OF FACT: <br /> 1 <br />
