Election signs are permitted on private property m any distr�ct, provided such <br /> signs are removed within ten days following the election as related to the signs. No election sign <br /> shall be permitted in any district sooner than 46 days before the state primary for any state <br /> general election, and no sooner than two months prior to the election for an election other than a <br /> state general election. <br /> (10) Pylon sign. A sign supported by a post or posts so that the sign and supports are finished to grade <br /> by encasing the posts in a material consistent with the sign and where the base width dimension is <br /> a minimum of ten percent up to and including 50 percent of the greatest width of the sign. <br /> (11) Monument signs. One monument sign, limited to two faces is allowed per frontage per property, <br /> with a maximum of two. The areas of sign base, the supporting background structure, and the <br /> sign copy shall be combined for determining the total square footage and the height of the <br /> monument sign. <br /> a. The total allowable square footage shall not exceed 100 square feet per side. The base <br /> and supporting material shall constitute at least 25 percent of the total square footage. <br /> b. The base width dimension is 50 percent or more of the greatest width of the sign. <br /> c. The sign copy area shall have a minimum clearance of 20 inches above ground level. <br /> d. The sign copy area shall be completely enclosed within the monument materials. <br /> e. No portion of the sign or sign structure shall exceed ten feet above ground level. <br /> £ The monument sign base shall be constructed of materials similar in appearance to those <br /> of the principal structure and shall consist of brick, natural stone, stucco, textured cast <br /> stone, or integrally colored concrete masonry units. The structure surrounding the face of <br /> the sign from the base to the top of the sign must be solid, continuous, and consist of the <br /> base materials or complementary materials that match the appearance and color of the <br /> principal building. <br /> g. The 200 square feet of ground area around the base of the monument sign shall be <br /> landscaped with shrubs or perennials. <br /> (Code 1984, § 10.61(1); Ord. Signs in B and I districts. <br /> Within the B and I districts,wall and monument sia s are permitted subject to the following regulations: <br /> (1) B-1, B-2 and B-4:size. Within the B-1, B-2 and B-4 districts,the aggregate square footage of sign <br /> space per lot shall not exceed the sum of one square foot for each front foot of building, plus one <br /> square foot for each front foot of lot not occupied by a building.No individual sign shall exceed <br /> 50 square feet. <br /> (2) B-3: size. Within the B-3 district, the aggregate syuare footage of sign space per lot shall not <br /> exceed the sum of four square feet per front foot of building, plus one square foot per front foot of <br /> property not occupied by a building.No individual sign surface shall exceed 100 square feet. <br /> (3) I.• Within the I District, signs shall be permitted according to the regulations in section 78-832. <br /> (4) B-1, B-2 and B-4.• height. Within the B-1, B-2 and B-4 districts, no sign shall extend in height <br /> more than two feet above the highest outside wall or parapet of any principal building, nor shall <br /> any sign be located closer than ten feet from any property line; except that any sign over ten <br /> square feet may project two feet into any required yard area from the principal building. <br /> (5) B-3 and I.• height. Within any B-3 or l district,no sign shall extend in height more than six feet in <br /> height above the highest outside wall or parapet of any principal building.
