The hillside was cut and dropped above the staircasalong
and back from the ridgE for approximately0' due to extreme water run off. Our stair
system is sfill there and quite frankly appears to be holding up the hill. Our erosion repair
is also still there and standing tall.
You can not nn watr over a hillside without mking acconmodations for thr►maff. Yt
is tt►at simple. The water loads the top of the hillad the hill gives way. In this ease the
hillside cracked aiong the ridgenc1 rendsred all of the soils usless that gave way
including the soils under owr stair system.
If you review Ray's approved building plan it shows that almost sll of the water from ius
house atd land wcre diverted to nm over the bill. The divcraian of that water to one axes
at the top of the hila loaded the hill and it gave wa.y.
Tat r►ater nm-off could have been diverted to drain ia,lin the plarand sent to tlu
lxttam of the hill avoiding this dissaster. This is at least a$10p,000.00 ermr.
