The structure had been remodeled, added <br /> on to, and the basement floor lowered. Many additional post had been added in the basement for <br /> changes in floor loading from above &deflection control. The observable exterior wall was in rough <br /> shape, yet appeared stable &with out movement or additional cracking for many years. <br /> Discussions indicated that you intend to remove the previous second floor additions & dormers to <br /> add on a full second floor. The dormer removal can only help the existing second floor frarning <br /> situaiion by removing many of the point load concentrations & replacing them with a more uniform <br /> loading on the exterior wa11s. Reazranging the loading on the foundation walls should in general not <br /> make matters any worse, but will likety relieve some point load concenfirations. <br /> We discussed this with Wendy from the city of Orono the next day and felt reassured that the second <br /> floor would not over load the foundation. <br /> If you have any structur or questions on our wall review, please call to discuss them. <br /> . �'el3', <br /> Warren D.
