supported by periodic inundation or saturation following precipitation or snowmelt runoff events. Primary
hydrology indicators include High Water Table(A2)and Saturation(A3).Sparsely Vegetated Concave Surface(B8)
and Water-Stained Leaves(B9).
Secondary hydrology indicators include Drainage Patterns(B10),Geomorphic Position(D2)and FAC-Neutral Test
(D5). T'he identified hydrology indicators meet the criteria for wetland hydrology.
Soils
For the wetland basin along the north and east boundary, observed soil profiles generally match the soil profile for
the Houghton and Muskego soils, with the exception that on the northeast corner of the property, some areas contain
up to two inches of depositional material deposited over the wetland soils by stormwater runoff. Soils in the wetland
basin at the southeast corner are characteristic of cut and fill activities and do not correspond to any specific soil
series profile. The observed hydric soil indicators include Histisol(A11),Depleted Below Dark Surface(Ai 1)and
Depleted Matrix(F3).The observed hydric soil indicators meet the criteria for hydric soil.
Conclusion
A wetland survey was conducted for the Freshwater Foundation property, located in Orono,Minnesota. Two
wetlands were identified, including a large wetland that enters the property at two separate locations along the north
and east boundary of the property. The wetlands were delineated with the boundary determined based on distinct
differences in vegetation, soils, hydrology and topography consisting of the following: 1)transition from
predominantly hydrophytic vegetation within wetland areas to non-hydrophytic vegetation on upland areas; 2)
transition from hydric soils to non-hydric soils;and 3)transition from high water tables, saturated soils,or soils with
indicators of saturation,to upland areas that lack indicators of wetland hydrology;and,4)wetland/upland
boundaries generally corresponded with topographic features on the property.

Freshwafer Foundation Paae 5 Wetland Delineation Reqort
Cross River Consulting, LLC June 3, 2015
