� V O )v <br />O <br />\kES 0 <br />CITY of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 3024 <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISION 2 <br />FILE #1678 <br />WHEREAS, Paul and -,Marcia Merlo (hereinafter "the <br />applicants") are owners of the property located at 2142 <br />Shadywood Road within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and <br />legally described as follows: <br />Refer to Exhibit A, attached. <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for a <br />variance to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 to <br />permit the construction of a 22' x 24' addition to the east side <br />of the existing residence and a s-econd level deck at <br />approximately 8' x 23' to the lakeside of the existing residence, <br />a hardcover variance within the 75-250' setback area is required <br />as there exists 8,380 s.f. or 50.7% of existing hardcover <br />improvements where only 25% is allowed, applicant'proposes <br />removal of 2,846 s.f. of existing hardcover resulting in 5,534 <br />s.f. or 33.4% of hardcover. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />Orono, Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1678. <br />2.. The property is located in the LR -1C Lakeshore <br />Residential Zoning District requiring 21,780 s.f. or .5 <br />acre in area. The property consists of 26,245 s.f. or <br />.6 acres. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application <br />on September 16, 1991, and recommended approval of an <br />amended variance proposal based upon the following <br />findings: <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
