MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PARK COMMISSION MEETING <br /> Monday,July 2,2018 <br /> 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br /> - Lurton Off Leash Park: The shade sails have been installed, extra tables were placed, the entry garden <br /> has been planted, the small dog area is being mowed, and prairie maintenance is being performed <br /> periodically. Pending work includes trail upgrades, which is scheduled to occur next week. <br /> - City Beaches: Aquatic weed removal and beach cleaning has been performed. Pending work is a new <br /> gate for Lydiard. <br /> -Navarre Park: Concrete for the sports court concrete has been placed and the hydrant/faucet has been <br /> repaired. <br /> Williams asked whether there was any damage from the faucet leak. <br /> Edwards indicated there was not. <br /> - Antoine Park: New playground curbing has been installed. Pending work includes restoration around <br /> the curbing. <br /> - Lake Access: Boundary markers were installed at the Carman Bay access point. Edwards noted the <br /> signs have been vandalized at both Carman and Casco Point, which will need to be repaired. <br /> Meyers asked what type of damage was done. <br /> Edwards indicated one sign was completely removed and the other sign was cut down below the ground <br /> at Carman Bay. At Casco the signs were removed. <br /> Berg noted the no fishing signs are also completely gone from Lydiard Beach. <br /> Ruegemer suggested perhaps some cameras be installed. <br /> Meyers noted the basketball court will be going in at Navarre in the near future. <br /> Roath asked if they are on budget for Navarre. <br /> Edwards indicated they are. Edwards noted the City received $10,000 from Hennepin County and the <br /> restoration work will be done in-house. <br /> Meyers asked if the area will be sodded or seeded. <br /> Edwards indicated it will be sodded. <br /> Meyers commented the Park Commission should consider having some type of Octoberfest or festival <br /> once the Golf Course improvements are completed. <br /> 7. EAST LONG LAKE ROAD CONVERSION TO TRAIL—ADAM EDWARDS <br /> Edwards stated East Long Lake Road happens to be on the east side of Long Lake along the shoreline and <br /> that the road takes you to Summit Beach. Edwards stated East Long Lake Road has been a maintenance <br /> nightmare for a number of years because it runs along the lakeshore on some really bad soils. <br /> Page 7 of 11 <br />
