July 6, 2015 <br /> City of Orono <br /> Planning and Zoning Department <br /> 2750 Kelley Parkway <br /> Orono, MN 55356 <br /> RE: Retaining wall on 1880 Shadywood RD <br /> To Whom It May Concern: <br /> It has been brought to our attention there may be a potential issue regarding the placement of a <br /> retaining wall installed by our neighbor at 1880 Shadywood RD. Prior to the installation of the wall,they <br /> discussed with us the planned location of the wall (along the property line dividing 1880 Shadywood RD <br /> and 1890 Shadywood RD). We informed them we had no objections to the installation of a wall, as long <br /> as it was installed entirely within the property boundaries of 1880 Shadywood RD. <br /> We have recently been informed that the City of Orono generally requires a five foot setback from a <br /> property line for retaining walls. We have no objection to the wall being within the normal five foot <br /> setback as long as the wall system is entirely within the property boundaries of 1880 Shadywood RD. <br /> We hope the above clarifies our position regarding the wall.
