MottZed soil in the absorbtion
area was observed at 33" and standing water was observed at
24". r»p to the evidence of a seasanal. hiRh water table a
pressurized mound system will need to be installed. The bot-
tom of the rock will be at least 3 ' above the seasonal high
water table.
The highest percolation rate measured out of three tests was
68 mpi and the average of the three was 46 mpi at a depth of
12". With proper design the soils are adequate for treating
septic effZuent.
A pumping station will need to be installed to lift the eff-
luent to the treatment area.
The manifold and supply line must have back drainage to the
pumping station. The distribution pipes shall have their ends
capped with a 1 /4" hole in the crown of the cap. Be sure the
rock and sand fill material is clean. The sod layer below the
entire mound area must be turned over. just break up the sod,
be sure not to over work.
The power supply and all switches must be located outside the
manhole in a weather proof enclosure fastened to a treated post.
A warning devise must be installed with a light and a sound
device in case of pump failure.
Al1 neighboring weils are located more than 100 ' from the pro-
posed tanks and treatment area.
Keep all heavy equipment off the proposed treatment area. The
treatment area has been marked out with lath and is roped off.
With proper installation and maintanance, this system should
have no problem in treating septic effluent effectively.
Re ommend to pump the septic tanks annually.
W !
CLAY N W.
