GYPSUM DRYWALL <br /> SECTION 09250 <br /> PART 1 -GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SCOPE <br /> A. Drawings and general provisions of Contract,including General and Supplementary Conditions <br /> and Division 1 Specification Sections,apply to this Section. <br /> l. Insulation is specified in Division 7 Section 07210"Insulation". <br /> B. All Gypsum Drywall: on walls and ceilings,to the extent shown on drawings. <br /> C. Gypsum Board:Regular wallboard fire-rated wallboard,water resistant wallboard;backer board, <br /> acoustical insulation. <br /> D. Work is to be one layer and two layer gypsum board,type and thickness as shown on drawings. <br /> All walls and the ceiling in Garage that face habitable rooms shall have 2layers of 5/8"type x fire rated. <br /> No other walls shall be faced with fire-rated material. Finishing of joints and heads of fastening devices. <br /> Caulking as required by manufacture and according to good practice. <br /> E. Anchors,adhesives,hangers,clips,furring channels,accessories,etc.,(unless specified under <br /> other sections)as required to adequately support and secure work in place,starting from conditions of <br /> building structure. <br /> PART 2-MATERIALS <br /> 2.1 GENERAL: ALL MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH ANSI-A97.1. <br /> A. Manufacturer:Unless otherwise specified,excluding metal studs and textured spraying of <br /> ceilings,provide all materials as the product of one manufacture with installation,and erection in strict <br /> accordance with manufacturer's directions. Provide materials of U.S.Gypsum,National Gypsum or <br /> Gold Bond. <br /> B. Dalivery and Storage:Materials to be delivered in original unopened containers and bundles, <br /> with manufacturer's hallmark,stored to protect from the elements and damage. <br /> 2.2 GYPSUM MATERIALS AND ACCESSORIES <br /> A. Gypsum Board:Products of U.S.Gypsum,National Gypsum Company and Georgia Pacific, <br /> 5/8"thick,48"wide,unless otherwise noted. Lengths as required to minimize end joints. Fire rated <br /> g,ypsum board:USG sheetrock firecode wallboard; 5/8"ti�ick,48"wide,tapered edge; lengths as required <br /> to minimize end joints. <br /> 1. Water-resistant gypsum board:USG sheetrock w/R Gypsum wallboard;5/8"thick,48" <br /> wide,tapered edge; lengths as required to minimize end joints.Note: All walls in Master <br /> Bathroom and in Washer-Dryer Closet shail have this type of gypsum board. <br /> 2. Gypsum b,acking board:USG Baxbord,ffiickness if called for on drawings,48"wide <br /> square edges; lengths as required to minimize end joints. <br /> B. Fastenings:As recommended by manufacturer, lengti�s as required,use screw types"S"screws. <br /> Comply with requirements U.S. label service. <br /> C.
