,
FIELD REVIEW
Field Review
Wetland 1: Wetland 1 is a Type 3, PEMC1 shallow marsh. The wetland extends off-site to the northeast
and the on-site portion is approximately 0.96 acres in size. The wetland is primarily vegetated with reed
canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea) and narrow leaved cattail (Typhus angustifolia). The underlying soils
are mapped as Houghtan muck, a hydric soil. The investigated soil profile met the histic epipedon(A2)and
thick dark surface (Al2) hydric soil indicators. Hydrology indicators observed include geomorphic position
(D2), and the FAC-Neutral Test(D5).
The upland buffer surrownding the wetland consists of common buckthom (Rhamnus cathartica), boxelder
(A¢er negundo), reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea), and garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata). Gentle
slopes form the transition into the wetland.
Wetland 1 drains into a roadside culvert that conveys runoff into Maxwell Bay to the west.
Investigated Area:
One additional area was investigated because it contained a significant amount of reed canary grass. This
area lacked hydric soil and wetland hydrology, and was determined to be a non-wetland(see Sample Point
A).
WETLAND INVESTIGATION C
27T0 IZAINEY ROAD
WAYZATA,MINNESOTA
nPRaos
